UNIC model Phoenix is a proprietary model in which the group head has been modified for use of a specific brand of coffee pod. The filter holder will not accept any standard portafilter. Owners who prefer the convenience of using coffee pods are very happy with this model even though there is a high price for this convenience.  The older model (1997 & earlier) has two electronic boxes for each group - an electronic fill box and another coffee dosing touch pad. There are two distinct types of Phoenix models. One model has a flowmeter for programming the dose and the other model has dosing timer. The Coffee touch pad for Phoenix models with dosing device is part # DV03AX and for Phoenix models without a dosing device, the part # DV61X.
